Senator Bernie Sanders has repeatedly stated that he will take his presidential campaign all the way to the convention in Philadelphia, something which has garnered criticism in the Democratic Party.

With the focus now on defeating Trump, the importance of an endorsement from Sanders is not lost on Clinton and her camp, who could use the enthusiasm of a lot of his younger voters.

According to NBC's Andrea Mitchell, that elusive backing may be just around the corner, as despite Sanders' claims that he wants to keep pushing his agenda all the way to the end of the month, negotiations between the two camps have been going well and there could be a joint event as early as next week.

On Wednesday, it was reported that Sanders was even booed at a closed session with members of the Democratic Party, after he stated that the goal was not to win elections but instead to overhaul the political process.

When asked about the incident on CNN, Sanders said it was overblown, but that "we look at the world a little bit differently. What I am trying to do, and the reason I ran for President, is to help transform this country."
