Motorists are being advised to take care on the roads this morning following heavy overnight rain in many parts.

Widespread wet road conditions has left excess surface water in some area and drivers are being urged to slow down and take extra care.

Arwen Foley, media spokesperson with the AA, has the details:Meanwhile, we're being warned of further risks of flooding tonight and into tomorrow.

Heavy rain and high winds look set to return this evening however forecasters say conditions won't be as bad as those seen last week.
