A man reported missing yesterday and presumed abducted has been found safe and well in Cavan. Richard O'Donovan was reported missing yesterday afternoon.

There were concerns for the well-being of the 31-year-old, who is known to the gardaí.

At about 3.30pm yesterday afternoon, a silver BMW jeep with the registration number 03-MN struck Mr. O'Donovan's BMW 3 series car in the Swiftbrook Glen Estate.

The occupants of the jeep then bundled him into their vehicle and drove away at speed.

Gardai say he made contact with them this morning and they met him at an undisclosed location. He is believed to have sustained minor injuries and has been taken to hospital for assessment.

While they have spoken to him they are awaiting medical clearance before formally interviewing him about his ordeal.
