Ireland's Egyptian consul has visited the Halawa siblings in Cairo, ahead of their appearance before a prosecutor today.
The three sisters and their brother 17-year-old Ibrahim are being held at two different jails in Egypt.
They were arrested two weeks ago after taking part in a protest calling for the reinstatement of former President Mohammed Morsi.
The Halawas face charges including attempted murder, possessing firearms and belonging to a militant group.
Minister Joe Costello tweeted earlier to confirm their appearance before the prosecutor.
