Gay Byrne says Ireland is heading for 200 road deaths by the end of the year, compared to 162 last year.

He says one of the biggest reasons for the increase is a lack of enforcement by gardai.

Speaking this morning Mr Byrne said the progress which we made on road deaths over the last 5 years is unraveling and a lack of garda presence is one of the key issues.
