A man has died following an aircraft crash in Co Down.

Police say the incident involved a light aircraft at Newtownards Airfield.

It happened shortly before 11:30am this morning.

The Air Accident Investigation Branch have been informed, and will be the lead agency in the investigation.

Reports suggest the plane may have stalled on takeoff.
