Ai Weiwei has arrived in Munich after the UK refused entry to the world famous artist.

Britian denied him a six-month visa because he did not declare a supposed "criminal conviction" on his application.

AFP reports the Chinese dissident has been reunited with his son who he hasn't seen for a number of years.

It's Mr Weiwei's first overseas trip since he was arrested by Chinese authorities nearly four years ago.

He and human rights groups maintain he did not lie on his application saying he was never charged or convicted.
