A man has been arrested in connection with a €26,000 seizure of Khat at Dublin Airport.

The drugs were found hidden the bag of a an Italian man (47), who was travelling from Addis Ababa.

Khat, a controlled drug here, comes from a flowering plant that grows in East Africa and South West Arabia. It contains an amphetamine-type substance and is mainly chewed.

Revenue says the cache weighed 53 kilos.

The man is currently being questioned by gardaí.
