Lynn Boylan of Sinn Féin is on course to top the poll and could be elected on the first count in the Dublin European elections.

Twelve candidates are vying for three seats in the capital.

It is a dog fight for the remaining two seats, with Fine Gael Junior Minister Brian Hayes and the Green Party leader Eamon Ryan among those battling it out.

Sinn Féin president Gerry Adams says there has been a 'seismic shift' in Irish politics.

While the deputy leader of Sinn Féin Mary-Lou McDonald told Newstalk it is clear from the tallies in Dublin that the electorate are looking for a new approach.
