Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to a crash that killed a 14-year-old boy in County Wexford. 

The collision involving a car and a tractor happened shortly before 7pm this evening at Ballytarsna on the Oulart to Blackwater road.

The driver of the car - a 36-year-old woman - and the 14-year-old boy were injured and taken to Wexford General Hospital.

The boy was later pronounced dead. The woman's condition is described as non-life threatening.

The driver of the tractor was uninjured.

The road is currently closed to facilitate a Forensic Collision examination and diversions are in place.

Witnesses to the collision are asked to contact Enniscorthy Garda station.
