There's good news for Cork, with the prospect of 450 new jobs in two separate firms.

Fire protection and security company Tyco has announced plans to shift its global headquarters to Ireland from Switzerland - and they want to hire an extra 100 people.

The news of the new Tyco positions follow from the news earlier this morning that outsourcing company Voxpro will be be offering 350 new jobs in Mahon. You can read more about the announcement here.

Another 100 jobs are being generated in Dublin through Tesco and BioMarin pharmaceuticals.
