A 23 year old man has been found guilty of dangerous driving causing the death of Paud O'Leary in Co. Kerry in July 2012.
Shane Fitzgerald from Upper Knockeen, Knockduff, Meelin, Newmarket, Co. Cork had pleaded not guilty to the charge at Tralee Circuit Criminal Court.
This afternoon, following around three hours of deliberations, the jury found Mr Fitzgerald guilty.
42 year old Paud O'Leary, a father of four from Leamyglissane, Gneeveguilla, was found dead at Scrahanfadda on July 1st 2012.
Mr O'Leary had been training for the Ring of Kerry charity cycle that morning when he was hit by a vehicle.
The prosecution said Shane Fitzgerald was driving his Toyota Landcruiser home from a night out in Killarney when he hit Paud O'Leary and failed to stop.
