As part of the latest season of Documentary on Newstalk, producer Diane McSweeney travels around Ireland asking one simple question - Do you remember your first time?

‘My First Time’ wonders what people learned about sex in school, and how their expectations differed from their reality. The documentary asks what is so important about the “first time”, why is it such a monumental event for most and if it is so important, why don’t we talk about it more? And even though everybody’s first time is unique, Diane McSweeney finds that common experience at the heart of it all; a shared vulnerability, a longing for trust and if nothing more, a good story to tell. The persons are anonymous, the voices are bare, and the stories, the recollections, the feelings, are honest.

‘My First Time’ will air on Newstalk 106-108fm on Saturday 18th October at 11pm.

‘My First Time’ was produced by Diane McSweeney and Cormac McAdam.

The programme was made with the support of the Broadcasting Authority of Ireland Sound and Vision Scheme

‘My First Time’ can also be listened to online at www.newstalk.ie.

Podcast available at here after the broadcast.
