ISIS has claimed responsibility for a suicide bombing in Yemen that has killed at least 52 soldiers.

The attack at the military base in the southern city of Aden follows an earlier attack which killed dozens.

Aden al-Ghad, a local news website, said several people were wounded in the blast as thousands of men queued up at the entrance of the base.

The port city is acting as the government's temporary base, and has been the target of several bombings and shootings targeting officials and security forces in recent months.

Emergency trucks flooded the area of the attack and streets were closed down by military forces. The injured soldiers have been taken to four hospitals in the city.

On December 10th at least 48 soldiers were killed in an ISIS attack on the same camp.

At least 10,000 people have been killed in the 20-month conflict in Yemen, prompting a humanitarian crisis in the impoverished country, according to the UN.
