A Clare schoolboy has been airlifted to hospital, after he was allegedly assaulted on his lunchbreak on Wednesday afternoon.
Gardaí have confirmed that a 13-year-old boy in Ennistymon suffered a head injury when he was attacked by two students in the Monastery Lane area.
They are thought to be from a different school in the town.
After the incident, the boy reported feeling unwell and was taken to a local medical centre.
He was then transferred by air ambulance to University Hopsital Limerick.
It is understood his condition is not life-threatening.
Gardaí in Ennistymon are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the alleged assault to contact them.
