Oscar-nominated animation studio to bring 71 new jobs to Dublin

Brown Bag Films has announced that it will create 71 new jobs in Dublin. The positions are to come on stream over the next two years at the digital animation company which is located in Smithfield.

The company says the extra staff is needed to expand its global output, and recruitment has begun already.

The Dublin firm has received two Oscar-nominates for Granny O'Grimm's Sleeping Beauty and Give Up Yer Aul Sins.

It also produces the children's TV shows Doc McStuffins, Octonauts, Henry Hugglemonster, Peter Rabbit and Bing.

Brown Bag is currently producing an adaptation of Richard Adams’ beloved novel Watership Down for Netflix and BBC.

Cathal Gaffney, Managing Director, Brown Bag Films said, "With an eight-year history in Smithfield, we were keen to maintain our roots here.

 

"Our new studio sets an incredibly high standard and is the perfect home for our outstanding creative and technical talent. This is a very exciting time to be working in the kids content business and we are currently recruiting for talent to work with us on exciting shows like Watership Down and Doc McStuffins."

Brown Bag currently employs 184 staff at their offices in Dublin, Manchester and LA.
