Gardaí have released without charge a man in his 40s being questioned over a fatal assault in Dublin.

A 57-year-old man died after the attack outside the Park View apartments in Harold's Cross in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Gardaí have released a man being questioned over the incident, and a file is being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).

Gardaí are continuing to appeal for witnesses.

They are particularly appealing to anyone who was in the area between Harold's Cross Bridge and Terenure between 3.30am and 4.00am to contact the incident room in Terenure garda station on 01-6666-473, the Garda Confidential Line at 1800-666-111 or any garda station.
