Luas services in Dublin will not resume until tomorrow morning, operator Transdev has announced.

Hurricane Ophelia damaged the roof on the Red Cow depot yesterday.

The roof is now being repaired, but work is expected to take the entire day.

Both Red & Green Line services are due to resume tomorrow at 5.30am.

The damaged roof is over technical rooms, which help control various key Luas systems.

Transdev says that those rooms & systems are also being assessed for damage to see if they need to be repaired.

However, they say it is currently not possible for services to resume.

In a statement this lunchtime, the tram company said: "Continuous assessment is being carried out and we will update Luas customers via the media and Luas Communication Channels as soon as it is possible to do so.

"Luas would like to thank Customers for their understanding and patience and assure them we are working to restore a safe tram service as early as possible."

Most other public transport operators resumed services this morning, with some minor delays & cancellations due to blocked roads and other issues caused by yesterday's storm.
