A major garda operation in Cork city has led to the arrest of three men and the seizure of 'firearms and an assortment of weapons'.
Searches were carried out at properties at Holyhill in Knocknaheeney on the north side of the city.
A large garda presence was also reported in the Gurranabraher area.
In total, gardaí say they searched 16 properties.
Firearms and ammunition were seized, along with slash hooks, knives and other assorted weapons.

Two caravans and a 4x4 vehicle were also seized during the operation, while jewellery and cash were among other items recovered.
Three men - one teenager and two men in their 40s - were arrested.
They are being held at Togher and Bridewell Garda stations under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.
Gardaí say their investigations are ongoing.
