Figures show four of Ireland's main political parties spent no money on promoting women in the last general election.
The Standards in Public Office Commission (SIPO) has released its report on exchequer funding received by political parties for the 2016 election.
Eight political parties qualified for funding: Fianna Fáil, Fine Gael, the Labour Party Sinn Féin, the Anti-Austerity Alliance-People Before Profit (AAA/PBP), the Green Party, Renua and Social Democrats.
The eight parties received a total of €5.8m under electoral legislation in 2016.
A breakdown of the funding showed AAA/PBP, the Green Party, Renua and the Social Democrats put 'NIL' funding towards 'Participation by Women'.
In the same category, Fianna Fáil spent €44,971, Fine Gael spent €75,195, the Labour Party spent €14,678, and Sinn Féin put €40,703 towards promoting women in the election.

Other notable figures included €59,947 spent by Fine Gael on consultancy fees, Fianna Fáil's €174,140 for phones and postage, Labour's €133,377 on rent, and Sinn Féin's €84,653 expenditure on computers and IT.
