A Dubliner accused of advertising and distributing child pornography in the US is set to appeal the High Court's decision to extradite him.

Eric Eoin Marques is accused of setting up a hosting site that allowed over a hundred websites post videos and images of child abuse.

The FBI says they believe Mr Marques is “the world’s largest facilitator of child porn”.

The 30-year-old, with an address at Mountjoy Square in Dublin, is wanted in the US where he could be jailed for the rest of his natural life if convicted.

FBI Special Agent Brooke Donahue travelled to Ireland last year to give evidence as part of an attempt by US authorities to have Mr Marques extradited.

Marques, who is a dual citizen of the US and Ireland, is alleged to be behind an anonymous hosting site known as Freedom Hosting.

Special Agent Donohue claimed thousands of members use this site to post millions of images of child abuse.

The images were described as being 'extremely violent and graphic' and depict the rape and torture of young children.

Mr Marques has been in custody since his arrest in August 2013 - and was back in court today where Ms Justice Aileen Donnelly told him she had decided to order his extradition.

She decided it did not infringe on his human or constitutional rights, and also ruled a decision by the the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) not to prosecute him here is not reviewable.

Counsel for Mr Marques said he intends to appeal.
