British actress Emily Blunt has landed the highly prestigious role of everyone’s favourite nanny, in a sequel of the Disney classic ‘Mary Poppins.’
The Sunday Express reports that the pregnant 32-year-old is expected to begin filming later this year.
Blunt will take up the central role in a movie which will be set 20 years on from the 1964 original starring Julie Andrews which depicted a pre-World War I England.
The movie made Andrews an overnight success and she later went on to pick up five Oscars.
The Emily Blunt version of the film will follow an adult Michael Banks who employs the services of Mary Poppins to look after his own children.
The ‘Devil Wears Prada’ actress announced she was expecting her second child at the end of January. She gave birth to her first child in 2014.
