A quantity of controlled drugs, worth €10,000, were seized in Waterford yesterday.
The discovery was made as part of an intelligence led joint operation involving Revenue’s Customs Service, the Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau, the Waterford Drugs Unit and the Health Products Regulatory Authority (HPRA).
5,000 Diazepam and Alprazolam tablets, and 50g of cannabis resin were seized following the search of a house.
A 29-year-old male and 28-year-old female were arrested by Gardaí and are being detained at Waterford Garda Station under the provisions of Section 2 of the Criminal Justice Act.
Investigations are ongoing.
