Catch up on all 150,000 'Game of Thrones' deaths in 21 minutes

As a series, one of the most thrilling aspects of HBO’s Game of Thrones is that the death of any character is always lurking in the next scene. You never quite know when it’s going to strike, but there’s plenty of heft to the “Anyone can be killed” line delivered by Arya Stark in Season Two.

In anticipation of the show’s forthcoming seventh season, a YouTube channel has compiled all the onscreen deaths the show has witnessed, even attempting to count them up. From monarchs to moppets, it’s a good time to be an undertaker in Westeros, with an estimated 150,966 deaths in the show’s run to date.

That is, of course, only a rough guess, as Game of Thrones has staged several large-scale battle scenes that don’t allow for exact figures. And Leon Andrew Razon Compilations, the YouTube channel that’s weaved all the woe together in this supercut, also accounts for animals offed as well.

With a month to go before the penultimate Game of Thrones season kicks off, spending 20 minutes of your day watching 150,966 creatures shuffling off this fictional mortal coil might make for grim viewing. But for every fan favourite whose death has come as a shocking twist, there are plenty of knives twisted into the guts of the ones you hate too.
