An army bomb disposal team has been called to the Lee Bank area of Birmingham after five men were arrested on terror charges.
The five men were arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the commission, preparation or instigation of acts of terrorism, police say.
Two of the men, aged 32 and 37, were arrested in the Stoke area of Staffordshire.
Another two men, aged 18 and 24, were arrested at their homes in Birmingham and the fifth man, 28, was arrested at another location in Birmingham.
West Midlands Police say that, as a result of one of the arrests, an army bomb disposal team has been called in.
They added that this was "a precautionary measure".
Officers are still searching properties in Stoke and Birmingham as part of the investigation.
