Convergys has announced that it will create a minimum of 250 new jobs at its Swords contact centre in north Dublin to work with BT.

These roles will support the continued expansion of BT's broadband network.

Successful candidates will receive comprehensive training from BT and Convergys and these roles are across its operational and support units.

Stephen Guerin, Site Director at Convergys Dublin, commented on the announcement: "Dublin has been a pivotal hub for Convergys for over 15 years’ and the creation of these new jobs reaffirms our commitment to the Irish market. We commenced our recruitment in December and have thus far successfully filled over 150 of the new positions, which are a mix of customer service and technical support, almost all of which will be dealing with customers directly.

"This has allowed us to recruit very talented candidates from the local communities in North County Dublin and we have been extremely impressed by the calibre of highly skilled and qualified workers available."

Meanwhile, Rhianne Mitchell, General Manager, BT Consumer (UK), said, "We’re delighted to be able to partner with Convergys in order to make a significant contribution to economic growth by creating hundreds of jobs in Ireland."

The company is starting the process of filling these vacancies immediately.
