Enterprise Ireland says more than 10,000 extra jobs were created in 2015.

Employment in Irish exporting companies has now reached a record number of 192,000.

Enterprise Ireland says it's the best performance in several decades.

Meanwhile, the Government has formally abandoned its target to have full employment in Ireland by 2018.

It has now pushed the target back to the year 2020 - after admitting it is too difficult to get jobs for everyone within three years.

2020 was the original target, but the plan was brought forward after a Cabinet meeting at the start of the year.

Unemployment now stands at 8.9%, compared to over 15% at the start of 2012.
