Telecoms firm Vodafone is launching a TV service in Ireland.

Vodafone TV will have a catch up, record and restart programmes feature, as well as a dedicated Netflix button on its remote controls.

The service will be available from €40 per month to all new and existing Vodafone Home (broadband) customers.

This will increase to the standard price of €70 a month thereafter.

It is also launching a new TV Anywhere app, where mobile customers can watch their favourite shows on the move.

This service is to be included in the price of the customer's Vodafone TV package. Customers can choose six months of either Netflix, Setanta Sports pack including BT Sports or free multiroom.

Ciaran Barrett, head of consumer fixed at Vodafone Ireland, said: "This is a significant move for Vodafone in the Irish market, offering a full TV service to our customers for the first time".

"We've listened to our customers to understand what kind of TV service they want and we believe we are delivering great content with an excellent experience that brings convenience and seamless viewing from the home into the hand".

The service is available to order in retail stores nationwide or online.

Vodafone TV is delivered via high-speed broadband, and is available to consumers who have broadband speeds of at least 40mbps.
