Free wifi, water and yoga mats, minibars stocked with shop-priced items and bathrooms with the right lighting for putting on make-up are some of the perks being offered by Richard Branson, as he opens his first Virgin Hotel in Chicago.

The businessman has plans to expand the chain across America, and hopes to eventually open one in London.

He says he has "tried to think of all the things that people hate about hotels and put those right".

But you won't be staying in a hotel 'room', you will be sleeping in a 'chamber'.

Virgin says "Calling them rooms is like calling the space shuttle an airplane. Our groundbreaking Chamber design combines the hallway, closet, and bathroom into one luxurious dressing room area".

And privacy doors will divide the chamber in two.

The hotel will also include a "modern day social club", described as a dynamic hybrid of bar/lounge and a laid-back study and restaurant.

There are also plans to open a hotel at One Music Row in the state of Nashville in 2016.
