The government is being asked to review its symphysiotomy scheme.

Survivors of Symphysiotomy says women are being asked to provide documentation, which in many cases does not exist.

The group represents woman who had the procedure preformed on them during birth.

It says this is excluding women from receiving compensation.

The matter will be raised later in the Dáil today, with the group due to hold a press conference outside Leinster House.

Chairperson Marie O'Connor says a change of attitude is needed.

She told Newstalk Breakfast in some cases, they are looking for receipts dating back 60 years.
