We're still a while away from having digital assistants completing all of our daily tasks for us, but that day is coming. Amazon, Google and Samsung are just some of the tech companies working to develop their offerings in this regard.

Apple's Siri was one of the first out of the traps and the company has added a new feature that will appeal to many iPhone users.

As part of the latest WhatsApp update, users can now ask Siri to read the last received WhatsApp message. Siri will dictate the text of that message. Users can then text texts using their voice too, allowing for a hands-free experience.

To set this up, ensure you are running iOS 10.3 and have the latest version of WhatsApp on your device. Asking Siri to read your last WhatsApp message will bring up the following response.

By hitting 'Yes', Siri will be able to read your messages aloud.

This is just one of many updates to the service over the last year. Recent changes include the launch of WhatsApp Status. Users can share their daily activities with all of their contacts, should they so wish. They will also see updates from friends and family also using the feature. Just like Snapchat, Instagram Stories and Facebook Stories, all moments will disappear after 24 hours.
