A lay church worker has appeared in court charged with indecently assaulting ten boys over 13 years.
Patrick O'Brien - with an address at Knocklyon Road in Templeogue - has been granted bail.
Mr O'Brien, a lay worker for the Church of Ireland, appeared in court on 75 charges of indecent assault.
Detective Garda Anthony Maloney of the Sexual Crime Management Unit gave evidence that he was arrested and brought to Terenure garda station this morning.
He replied 'no comment' to each of the charge sheets.
Mr. O'Brien (76) is accused of carrying out the assaults at various locations including in Co Galway, Kildare, Westmeath and at St Patrick's Cathedral in Dublin on dates between 1977 and 1990.
He has been granted bail and will appear in court again for service of the book of evidence on July 28th.
