Revenue has announced changes to the PAYE Anytime service, which will come into effect from the middle of June.

The service, which was first released in 2005 will no longer be accessible. It's thought that the lack of compatibility with mobile devices is part of the reason why the service will be discontinued.

From the middle of June, it will be possible to conduct all PAYE business online via the PAYE Services in "myAccount", which is accessible on mobile devices and through the RevApp, which is available on iOS and Android

It will be possible to carry out the following tasks within the app:

  • Manage your tax 2017: Claim/update your tax credits, declare/update non-PAYE income such as rental income and divide your tax credits and rate bands in a way that ensures you pay the right amount of tax. An updated Tax Credit Certificate will issue to you and your employer or pension provider.
  • Review your tax 2013 – 2016: Review your taxes for an earlier year including claiming tax relief on health expenses. If you are jointly assessed to tax, either person can complete the review. You will also be able to amend your review if you need to make any changes.
  • Request an End of Year Statement (P21): If there are no changes needed to your record you can get a statement without completing a review.
  • Add a Job or Pension: Tell us about a new job or pension so that we can issue a new Tax Credit Certificate to you and your employer or pension provider.

Revenue's new website will go live tomorrow, June 7th.

"Our goal is to provide the information you need to meet your tax and duty obligations in as clear and straightforward a way as possible. To this end, we consulted with customer focus groups, our own staff, tax practitioners and representative bodies. We also took account of recent research into how people actually look for and consume online content," said the company in a statement
