Britain's Kate Middleton and her husband Prince William have released photographs of their new child to celebrate her first birthday on Monday.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, as they are also known, released four images of Princess Charlotte at her home in Norfolk which were taken by Middleton earlier this month.
The tiny royal was introduced to the public on the day of her birth, 2 May 2015, and as with her older brother George the images made headlines around the world.
A statement from Kensington Palace said: "The Duke and Duchess are very happy to be able to share these important family moments and hope that everyone enjoys these lovely photos as much as they do."
The pictures show how the young princess - named Charlotte Elizabeth Diana after her grandmother Diana, and great-grandmother the Queen - has grown up during her first 12 months.
Her privacy has been carefully guarded during the past year, and she has only been seen in public on one other occasion, her christening.
On that day George stole the limelight when he stood on tiptoes to peer into her pram.
