There has been an enormous reaction to the Two Women Travel Twitter account, which is documenting a woman’s journey to the UK to receive an abortion.
The two women behind the account started tweeting updates from the journey in the early hours of this morning, with Taoiseach Enda Kenny tagged in numerous posts.
There has been an extraordinary response to the move as @TwoWomenTravel garnered thousands of followers in a matter of hours and quickly started trending on Twitter in both Ireland and the UK.
Several celebrities and well known personalities, including James Corden and Graham Linehan, have come out in support of the women, while thousands of others have tweeted their take on it.
Love that they're keeping @endakennyTD updated https://t.co/sxqqGCmdK5

Today, @TwoWomenTravel but you're not on your own in this. So many people are with you. X

The real-time sacrifice of privacy is a huge thing. I admire these women but wish they didn't have to do this #twowomentravel #repealthe8th

All I can think about today is brave @TwoWomenTravel, the others making that journey and those in crisis unable to travel #repealthe8th

Despite what those hurling abuse at the #twowomentravel say, there's no triumphalism or joy here...
This is the sad reality of Ireland 2016— Jim Sheridan (@Jim_Sheridan) 20 August 2016
You want to know who the #twowomentravel are? Your best mate. The girl you sat in front of in school. Your ex. Your sister. #repealthe8th

Many people have also condemned the women's actions.
Deeply sorry for the #TwoWomenTravel today. Abortion is not something I would want my female friends or family to go through. CS

@DavidOShelton David a healthy baby is about to die, anyone with a soul is appalled at what's happening. @CoraSherlock is right to speak out
