While the country is busy finalising plans for New Years Eve - Netflix has a plan for adults who don't want kids to miss out on the fun.

"We all know it’s a tricky one to navigate with little ones. They want to stay up late; you want some adult time and no one wants a cranky tired kid on New Year’s Day. Netflix is here to help speed along the bedtime process so that kids get their New Year's Eve too," the company said.

They've posted a series of 'countdowns' with its most popular original series aimed at little ones, featuring the likes of Puffin Rock, All Hail King Julien, Skylander’s Academy, Project MC2, Troll Hunters, and Luna Petunia.

These short clips feature their favourite characters preparing for 2017 before counting down to 'midnight.'

This service was also offered last year and Netflix reports that the peak-viewing time for these countdowns in Ireland was 7:00pm.
