The Arts and Heritage Minister says she will "look at" plans for a national holiday to mark the 1916 Rising centenary.
Heather Humphreys was speaking after reports yesterday that a one-off "Republic Day" in April 2016 is one of the proposals being considered to commemorate the Rising.
A military parade is expected to be a main feature of the programme of events.
Junior Minister Kathleen Lynch is proposing the Easter Rising commemorations could also include a statement about the country's future.
No decision has been made on the proposal yet, Ms Lynch told Newstalk Breakfast yesterday that rather than 'razzmatazz' and flyovers, maybe it should include a statement about our expectation for people for the future.
While Ms Humphreys says she will think about all proposals, and that any events marking 1916 should be respectful and inclusive.
