The family of a man shot dead in Dublin in a case of mistaken identity say the murder has still not sunk in.

Two weeks ago, 24-year-old Martin O'Rourke was caught up in the city's gangland feud.

He was gunned down on Sheriff Street in Dublin in broad daylight.

Mr O'Rourke was not the intended target, and was said to be just in the wrong place at the wrong time.

He was buried following a funeral mass at St Michan's Church in the city five days ago.

Fr Derek Farrell told mourners Martin was a proud young Traveller man, who loved his Traveller culture and tradition.

He said that the 24-year-old had callously and brutally been robbed of everything.

The priest said Martin was a devoted fiancé to Angeline, and a loving father to his three young children.

Larry Power is Martin O'Rourke's father-in-law.

He told Newstalk Lunchtime his grandchildren are still trying to come to terms with losing their father.

And he pleaded with those involved in the feud to stop the killing.
