Sources say that a man in his 50s has been shot dead in Dublin tonight.
Gardaí at Fitzgibbon St in Dublin are investigating the shooting in Dublin this evening.
The incident occurred at Poplar Row, North Strand, Dublin 3 at approximately 7.45pm.
Emergency services are currently at the scene.
Gardaí are appealing for anyone who was in the area or may have information, to contact them at Fitzgibbon Garda Station on 01 666 8400, the Garda Confidential Line 1800-666-111 or any Garda Station.
The Justice Minister has condemned a fatal shooting in Dublin City Centre this evening.

Sinn Féin Leader Gerry Adams has condemned this latest shooting in Dublin’s north inner city.
Gerry Adams said: “I want to condemn the latest shooting incident tonight in Dublin, which has brought further fear and intimidation to the streets of our capital. Those behind this latest shooting, and those behind the dreadful attack last Friday at the Regency Hotel, must be apprehended and taken off our Streets. The Gardaí need the fullest possible support from the community in their efforts to do this.”
