A 38-year-old Polish national has been charged in connection with a human trafficking investigation.
Wojciech Gendarz was charged in connection with an investigation into the trafficking of Polish nationals into the state by organised criminal groups for the purpose of sexual exploitation.
The Polish national, who was born in September 1978, was arrested and charged in court today in connection with an offence which occurred in November 2011.
Garda David Kelly told Dublin District Court that Mr Gendarz was arrested at Dublin Airport this afternoon after officers received a tip-off that he had arrived in the country.
The court heard that Mr Gendarz was in Dublin to visit his girlfriend who lives here.
Mr Gendarz - who the court heard lives and works outside the State - was remanded in custody by Judge John Coughlan, with consent to bail on strict conditions.
Among the conditions set by gardaí include a €10,000 bond along with an independent cash surety of €10,000.
Mr Gendarz is due to appear before Cloverhill District Court next Thursday morning.
