Garda David Kelly told Dublin District Court that Mr Gendarz was arrested at Dublin Airport this afternoon after officers received a tip-off that he had arrived in the country.

The court heard that Mr Gendarz was in Dublin to visit his girlfriend who lives here.

Mr Gendarz - who the court heard lives and works outside the State - was remanded in custody by Judge John Coughlan, with consent to bail on strict conditions.

Among the conditions set by gardaí include a €10,000 bond along with an independent cash surety of €10,000.

Mr Gendarz is due to appear before Cloverhill District Court next Thursday morning.
