John McAreavey says he is working tirelessly to re-invigorate the investigation into the death of his wife, Michaela. She was murdered three years ago while on their honeymoon in Mauritius.

Michaela (27) from Co. Tyrone was killed in her room at the Legends Hotel.

Two men who had previously worked at the resort were acquitted of the crime in 2012 after an eight week trial.

It was announced last July that a new police team was to carry out a fresh investigation into the murder. It is being headed up by three senior officers on the island.

There was also criticism after photographs of Michaela's body appeared in a newspaper there.

Tanaiste and Minister for Foreign Affairs Eamon Gilmore said at the time that he was shocked at the printing of the pictures.

John told The Pat Kenny Show here on Newstalk that a new investigation into Michaela's death is making progress.
