The US Secretary of State has included Iran in the list of countries that he thinks could help tackle Islamic State. Despite not being invited to join the military coalition against the militants, John Kerry claims Iran could help "take out" IS.

This week, US politicians approved the US President Barack Obama's plan to help arm and train moderate Syrian rebels fighting IS militants.

Speaking at the UN Security Council John Kerry urged the international community to expand support for the Iraqi government as it fights IS militants.
