Many of us have experienced battery issues with our smartphones over the years. We have, in many ways, come to accept it as part and parcel of the privilege of owning a smartphone  but if you've been experiencing more battery issues than normal with your iPhone 6S, you may be due a fix. 

Apple has announced it will offer replacement batteries to iPhone 6S owners who find their devices are shutting down abruptly.  

"Apple has determined that a very small number of iPhone 6s devices may unexpectedly shut down. This is not a safety issue and only affects devices within a limited serial number range that were manufactured between September and October 2015."

If your device is one of the impacted phones, you can contact an authorised Apple retailer and receive a battery replacement, free of charge. 

"If you believe your iPhone 6s was affected by this issue, and you paid to replace your battery, you can contact Apple about a refund."

Apple requests users to take a backup of their iPhone 6S, turn off the "Find my iPhone" service and erase the contents phone before handing it over. It's important to note, however, if your iPhone 6S has a cracked display or features any other damage, you will have to get that repaired before getting the battery replaced.
