Someone, somewhere in Ireland has just won the Euromillions jackpot - worth over €88m.

Tonight’s draw was worth a total of €88,587,275 and according to the National Lottery there was just one jackpot winner.

It is not yet known where the winning ticket was purchased - or if the winner was a single ticket holder or syndicate.

The winning numbers were 01, 05, 07, 17, 23 with ‘lucky star’ digits 03 and 08.

The lottery website and app reportedly experienced some technical difficulties following the announcement as thousands of hopefuls logged on to check their numbers.

The Euromillions has been won nine previous times in Ireland.
