An investigation is underway after a car belonging to prison officers was petrol bombed in Cork last night.
The attack occurred at a house in Dromond Drive in Blarney at around 12.30am.
No one was injured in the incident but the car was damaged.
There are reports that two men fled the scene.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to contact them.
The Prison Officers' Association (POA) says it is "deeply concerned" about the attack.
"Our thoughts at this time are very much with the prison officers involved and their families. We will do all we possibly can to support them after such a traumatic event", a statement says.
"The POA has consistently raised the issue of attacks on prison officers and their property both inside and outside of prisons over years.
"We again call on the Minister and the Prison Service to review all such events and do all possible prevent such vicious attacks into the future", it adds.
