The jobs will be created across the company's 26 offices here.

Major recruitment drives will also take place in Galway, Wexford and Dublin in the coming weeks.

Tánaiste Frances Fitzgerald welcomed the announcement, stating: “I am delighted that Bluebird Care is expanding its workforce by creating 370 new roles. Indeed, I am especially pleased to see the creation of jobs across the country.

"Bluebird Care's commitment to training local people to care for vulnerable people in their homes provides an important service to communities."

Managing Director of Bluebird Care Ireland Brian Mac Goey says they don't just care for older people.

"We look after people with varying ranges of ability at home," he explained. "In the disabilities market, we provide complex care to children in the home."
