Met Éireann has issued two weather warnings for the south of the country as heavy rainfall is expected tomorrow.

A status orange “be prepared” warning will be in force for Cork and other parts of the south coast tomorrow as the worst of the weather is expected from 6am on Sunday until 6am on Monday.

A milder yellow alert will also be in place for Kerry, Limerick, Tipperary and Waterford for the same time period.

Between 40 and 70 mm of rainfall will fall on Cork with the heaviest falls along the coast and in mountainous areas. There will also be high tides.

It will be cold and showery today. The showers will mainly be along western coastal counties.

Tonight will be largely dry with clear spells, with the rain spreading across the country from Munster and south Leinster early tomorrow.
