The body of a baby boy found at an apartment in Killarney yesterday afternoon has now been removed from the scene to University Hospital Kerry for a post mortem.
The 11 month old was found dead at an apartment on Upper High Street in the town yesterday afternoon when his Mother returned from work.
A Polish man in his thirties - believed to be the baby's father - was also found with serious injuries and was taken to hospital where he's continuing to receive treatment.
An incident room has been set up and a family liason officer has been appointed.
Gardai are appealing for witnesses - particularly anyone who was in the vicinity of the apartment complex between 1pm and 6pm yesterday.
