French media outlets have agreed to stop publishing photos and names of terrorists.

According to reports, the decision is aimed at preventing individuals from being inadvertently glorified.

It follows a spate of attacks in France over the past 18 months.

Meanwhile more questions are being asked about French security services, after it emerged the men behind a terror attack in Normandy were on watchlists.

Both of Father Jaques Hamel's attackers have also appeared on a video that has been released by Islamic State, backing the group's leader.

One of them was also on bail, after trying to travel to Syria to join IS.

The pair, who IS has called its "soldiers", also took three nuns and two churchgoers hostage.

Police later shot dead the two men as they ran from the church shouting "Allahu Akbar".

Catherine Morin-Desailly is a local MP and Senator.
