For the first time in 148 years, the conservative San Diego Union-Tribune newspaper has backed a democratic candidate to become president of the United States.
It is becoming a trend with conservative publication after conservative publication backing Hillary Clinton.

The Cincinnati Enquirer and the Arizona Republic have also backed Donald Trump's rival as his support base continues to unravel.
Commenting on its choice, the editorial board at the publication said; "Sixteen months into his campaign, Donald Trump remains Donald Trump...Trump continues to lash out at his critics, to insist complex problems can be solved with little effort and to depict an America that's been "ripped off by every single country in the world".
The election of Trump could "see an administration that's friendlier to ruthless Russia - which is waging a cyberwar against America - than to such democracies and historic partners as Great Britain, Germany, Canada, Japan and Australia."
The paper highlights Hillary Clinton's experience and background as a reason for her suitability for the role whilst also addressing the anger at the use of her private email server.
It says: "she traveled nearly a million miles and visited a record 112 countries. As a U.S. senator, the Democrat showed she can collaborate with Republicans."
